Let the Dust Settle

I’m being held captive by two purring cats, and Season 2 of the crown. My forced relaxation has stilled my body but not my mind.

I have come to the realization, that this past few weeks set backs are the universe’s way of testing my resolve. Additionally, they have been a lesson, showing me that I stir too much up at once.

I’m known for wanting everything done NOW! And if I don’t have help, I’ll do it all myself. If I hit a block, I put my head down and plow through. A great skill set right?! Yes and no.

I’ve realized that in my insanely short sighted goal focused ambition, I miss important details along the way.

I’ve been puzzling over why I seem to have minor oversights at work blow up disproportionately on me. I’ve been written up when I worked at a bank because my drawer was off .25 when I left for a vacation. They said I forced a balance. In reality I had counted a .50 piece as a quarter and my manager didn’t catch it and our policy was to not look for outages under 10.00. I’ve been fired for not learning something correctly, and doing it wrong 6 months in a row. And recently I missed an expedited shipping request that caused a lot of problems for a customer.

Individually, none of these mistakes are things only I have done. In reality they happen daily by everyone in the jobs I’ve done. But clearly for me, they are lessons I am to learn from. Otherwise they would not show up so dramatically for only me.

Today that lesson’s answer hit me. I need to be less big picture focused, and enjoy the details along the way. By doing this, I will not only live in the NOW more, but the outcome of my intentions will be more precise. Instead of taking two steps forward and one step back, I’ll actually advance two full steps.

Every time I fail to listen to my gut, the mistake is amplified. The three examples above had corresponding gut warnings that I over rode. In the case of not learning correctly, my gut had told me to email my understanding to my manager so that she would respond in writing versus verbally. I knew I didn’t understand the task well. So all I really need to do, is listen to my gut, my intuition. Check in with myself.

So. I assign this task to you. Write down 3 examples where small ordinary mistakes were amplified in your life, note if you had had that tickle in your mind that you ignored, and then this week, when you recognize that tickle, honor it. And see where you go. Track the outcome.

My guess is you will notice an amplified (or at the very lease noticeable) reward. You’ll get news you had hoped for, or a refund you didn’t expect. I bet something will happen to give you a pat on your back. Conversely, note how your ignoring that tickle backfired on you.

Our inner voice is like a shy child. Every time we listen to our inner voice, we give it strength and security so that it will speak up more quickly and louder next time. And each time we tell it to shut up, we make it quieter and less sure.

But it’s ironic that my lessons in “A Course in Miracles” was to live in the now, and it suddenly came together for me why my mistakes amplify. So listen, you’ll be amazed at how smart and lucky you really are

If we all took the same path life would be pretty shallow and crowded.

If you are wondering how you can make more choices that align with your true path, versus what your family, friends and society think you should do, sign up for an intuitive reading.

My readings tell you who you are at soul level. What decisions will bring more energy and abundance to your life, and how you’ve made decisions in the past (past lives also) that are keeping you stuck in lack.

Why is it that whenever my kitten looks adorable, he starts licking himself when I grab the camera? Seriously. Every time. I of course always take the pic and send it to my sister so she can share in the awkwardness. But it did make me think.

1. I have noticed the more perfect someone’s social media seems, the more messed up their real life is,

2. While we should snap a pic (with us in the picture) to remember our kids at certain ages, beautiful memories or whatever, we really need to put the camera down and EXPERIENCE it in real time.

3. Maybe perfection truly is the imperfect pictures, the pic where everyone is making a face or where your cat decides he isn’t clean.

So today, when you take a pic or a selfie, truly appreciate that first shot for the realism it embodies. That is life. Let people see what really is. You might be surprised at how many people open up to you because you are real instead of perfect.

No one likes perfect people anyway.

I’m not going to lie. I feel like this sometimes. And when I do, I realize I have let my boundaries slip. Doing the intuitive work required for reading someone means, you need strong boundaries. This allows for a healthy relationship between reader and prospective and current clients.

People don’t want intuitive sticking their noses in their energy without permission, and intuitives need to keep their energy to themselves so that they aren’t drained.

I have had a client who’s make up was that which needed and wanted balance and no drama. The dysfunction of this make up is becoming overly concerned with situations that don’t directly affect you. She did not recognize this in herself. A few days later she called me. She had been on the phone with a friend and realized she was becoming extremely agitated because her friend wasn’t taking enough time for herself.

If you notice that you are constantly angry or frustrated by situations that aren’t yours, you may be letting your boundaries slip. You are draining energy in a way that helps no one.

I had it explained perfectly to me once. Imagine life is a garden. If we over tend a garden, vegetables will be stunted, we may pull plants versus weeds, or at worst we may use too many chemicals making the garden unsafe. Conversely, if we neglect our garden, we will let the weeds take over.

Finding a balance is necessary, and this means boundaries. We don’t need to fix anyone else. People need to vent, but that doesn’t make their problems ours to fix. Detached listening can be all that is necessary.

When I give a reading, I pretty much forget the details within a day. I have them written down to go over if needed, but I can’t recall them normally from memory. This is a healthy level of detachment.

If you are rehashing or telling other people’s stories over and over, you need to check your boundaries. Being too caught up in things that don’t concern you isn’t healthy for anyone.

This quote is exactly how karma works. Your intentions (not just your thoughts, but the thoughts behind the actions you take) signal to the universe what it is you want. And the universe has no choice but to deliver.

Don’t believe me? Think about the last time you said to someone “how crazy can my ex be?!” And then they showed you exactly how crazy they are capable of being.

When you focus on the problems in your life, more problems will show up. This is because you are likely talking about the problems, taking actions based off these thoughts and all sorts of other subtle things showing the universe this is what you want.

Instead, try shifting your focus on the opportunities these problems are opening you up to. Think how the solution always pops up. The right people always show themselves.

Even if you are just taking a small leap of faith at first. Just try it.

If you are noticing all the problems follow the same pattern, this is the universe trying to show you a karmic block that you are ready to clear. Want to fast line clearing those blocks? Message me for an akashic record reading.

Wondering why I chose the name of my website?

Because cheesecake is my favorite dessert. It’s decadent, creamy and doesn’t make me feel gross after I eat it. Making it takes effort, but isn’t super hard.

It’s how life should be. Smooth, and yummy.

It started as a healthy living website. I had noticed so many people running on the sides of busy roads at 5 am in the rain and wondered to myself “Are they really enjoying this?” I began to realize that people felt their work outs should be hard and hurt. That their diets should be bland.

That’s not a sustainable lifestyle.

So when I discovered the Akashic Records, it really fit in with this philosophy. Of course hard work outs, and life struggles will lead to weight loss and us figuring out blocks on our own. But there really is an easier, faster way.

In both weight loss and life, hard doesn’t mean better. In fact, in weight loss, if you aren’t enjoying your workout, studies have shown they are less effective than if you are able to really engage with what you are doing.

I’ve included a link to my blog. I’ve been writing on it for a few years, which I fully credit for leading me to this path. Because over all, the pattern in my posts is that while the struggle is real, it’s optional.

I will admit, when I first heard of this modality, I was skeptical, but I was also desperate. Everything that the teacher said about her class though resonated fully with me.

I had followed enough spiritual blogs to know about the law of attraction and karma and keeping your vibe up. But what had always frustrated me was that I could feel that things were blocking me from my full potential, and I didn’t seem to be able to get around them fully.

When I took the class, and did my practice clients readings things began to happen. New paths were opening up, even before I had done my own reading!

It’s like suddenly it all made sense.

Karma carries from one incarnation to another. Negative karma (that which blocks or drains energy) acts like a smudge on a window. It can distort how you see things, and if bad enough can really affect how you see out.

While I’m still clearing these blocks for myself, I can feel them working.

Get a reading now and unblock the view of the path you are supposed to take. Stop struggling and wading through all those endless patterns that constantly show up. You will be surprised at how much lighter you feel and how opportunities will just show up.

Yes, life takes effort, but struggle is optional.
